The 2018/19 League One season came to a close on Sunday, with the 24 clubs set to compete in the 2019/20 campaign confirmed.

Charlton Athletic's play-off final victory over Sunderland at Wembley Stadium means they will join both Luton Town and Barnsley in the Championship, while Lincoln City, Bury, Milton Keynes Dons and Tranmere Rovers will move up from League Two to replace relegated Plymouth Argyle, Walsall, Scunthorpe United and Bradford City.

After dropping out of the second tier, Bolton, along with Rotherham United and Ipswich Town, would have been hoping to achieve an immediate return, but Wanderers' task has been made all the more difficult after they were deducted 12 points for entering into administration.

The deduction has been applied with immediate effect, ensuring the Trotters will remain in the relegation zone for at least the opening month of the new campaign.

Fixtures for the new EFL season will be released at 9am on Thursday 20th June 2019, with the opening round of games to take place over the weekend of August 3/4, 2019.
