Bolton have been handed a post-season boost, with news that Luca Connell, Ronan Darcy, Jordan Boon and Eddie Brown have extended their scholarship deals.

Connell and Darcy, who both made their first-team debuts as Wanderers were relegated from the Championship this season, had been publicly linked with moves away from the University of Bolton Stadium this summer, with Premier League clubs heavily speculated to be interested in the duo.

With names such as Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United said to be courting Connell, the future of the 18-year-old has long been identified as a priority behind the scenes and he is set to stay at the club he has represented since the age of eight.

Darcy, like Connell, has spent the past 10 years with the Trotters and mde his first-team bow in defeat to Nottingham Forest on the final day of the campaign.

Chelsea and Celtic were said to be keeping tabs on the forward, who is likely to receive loan experience next season having also featured for non-league Skelmersdale this past season.

Boon, a centre-back, made three appearances during a spell on loan at Northwich Victoria and was a part of the Wanderers under-18 side that advanced through to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup, while Brown finished as leading goalscorer after netting 12 times at youth level.

All four have been signed to third-year scholarships at Bolton, keeping them at the club until the end of June 2020.
