Harry Brockbank may be forced to leave Bolton over the summer, after a proposed 12-month extension was nullified when the club entered into administration.

Brockbank, who progressed through the Wanderers academy, made three first-team appearances in the closing weeks of the season, triggering a clause in his existing deal that is due to expire at the end of June.

The 20-year-old has impressed at under-23 level and didn't look out of place in defeats to Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest as he stepped up to Championship football.

A report in The Sun suggests clubs in the second tier and in Scotland are monitoring the defender's availability, while Bolton may yet return with an offer should their financial situation become clearer in the coming weeks.
