Following Monday's news that Bolton have been placed into administration, we take a look at the two men who have effectively taken control of the club.

Five days after submitting a Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators at the High Court, Fildraw Limited - the company representing the family of the late Eddie Davies - followed up by announcing David Rubin & Partners would be overseeing day-to-day activities instead of outgoing chairman Ken Anderson.

In utilising the services of David Rubin & Partners, events at Wanderers will be handled by Paul Appleton and Asher Miller, who will now negotiate with creditors and potential new owners in an attempt to get the club heading back in the right direction after years of financial mismanagement.

Appleton, who has been with the company since 1984, qualified as a chartered accountant in 1990 and boasts a track record of restructuring failing businesses. He became a Managing Partner of the company in 2002.

His name may be unfamiliar to those at the University of Bolton Stadium, but Coventry City supporters will only be well to aware after Appleton was involved in the 2013 sale of the Sky Blues to current - and controversial - owners SISU, otherwise known as the Otium Entertainment Group.

Miller, meanwhile, has been with David Rubin & Partners since January 2003 and is said to have a reputation for ensuring the survival of struggling businesses.

He holds a degree in accounting and finance, is both a chartered accountant and licensed insolvency pracitioner, and claims to hold a specialism in corporate recovery.

Their job over the coming weeks and months will be to examine all assets in order to understand the full financial picture of the club and holding company before putting together a plan for sale to take both companies out of administration.
