Peterborough United have joined the list of potential suitors for Bolton's out-of-contract defender Mark Beevers.

Beevers, who recently attracted interest from MLS side DC United, is set to bring an end to a three-year stay with Wanderers - for whom he has made 132 appearances and scored 12 goals.

The 29-year-old featured 34 times as the Trotters were relegated to League One this term and could be set for pastures new, with the financial uncertainty at the University of Bolton Stadium forcing many players to look elsewhere.

Peterborough finished just one point outside the play-offs this campaign and are setting sights high next season, which will be their seventh consecutive year in the third tier.
