A meet and greet evening with Jay-Jay Okocha, due to be held on May 24 at the University of Bolton Stadium, has been cancelled.
The event, dubbed 'So Good They Named Him Twice', would have granted supporters access to an exclusive Q&A session with the former Bolton captain, a luxury two-course meal and the opportunity to bid on football memorabilia, to name but a few.
Organisers Gold Star Promotions had hoped to stage the event within the stadium's Premier Suite facility, but Wanderers' ongoing financial difficulties and uncertain future of the Bolton Whites Hotel have forced a postponement.
A source close to Gold Star Promotions told Burnden Aces that the decision was ultimately taken out of their hands, with Heathcote & Co unable to guarantee their hospitality services.
The catering company, who are currently honouring conference and banqueting bookings within the hotel, are due to withdraw staff on Monday after the complex was forced into a temporary closure on Wednesday over health and safety concerns.
Those who had purchased tickets for the event are urged to contact Gold Star Promotions by clicking here.
