Reports on Saturday suggest the walkout of players at Bolton has started, after Pawel Olkowski served his notice to quit the club.

The Bolton News state Olkowski, who joined Wanderers on a free transfer from FC Koln in July 2018, has handed in an official letter of resignation - which he, and all players, are entitled to do once wages go unpaid for a total of 14 consecutive days.

Salary payments for the month of March are currently 29 days late, with April's payroll also due to run this coming Tuesday.

Olkowski is said to have handed in his resignation on Thursday (April 25), meaning he will be free to leave the club on May 9 following a 14-day period of notice, unless all outstanding monies are settled beforehand.

Bolton currently have 10 players under contract for the start of next season, two of which are goalkeepers and a further two - Connor Hall and Yoan Zouma - have seen their action largely restricted to under-23 football.

Others due to report for pre-season training in the summer are Ben Alnwick, Remi Matthews, Sammy Ameobi, Jason Lowe, Erhun Oztumer, Josh Magennis and Luke Murphy.
