Laurence Bassini has responded to claims from Ken Anderson that he has gone against an agreement to inject funds into Bolton.

Bassini is awaiting EFL ratification to conclude a takeover of the relegated Championship club, which, if approved, would see him take control of a majority 94.5% stake at the University of Bolton Stadium.

First-team players and staff went on strike on Friday, forcing Saturday's game against Brentford to be postponed, and Bassini admits he is prepared to put £1million of his own money into Wanderers but is currently unable to do so after the courts put a block on the club's outgoing finances.

"The accounts are still frozen and I am not just going to hand money over blindly because I don't know where it is going," Bassini told The Bolton News.

"I have been trying to get information to help me change things but it has not been forthcoming. It's like the whole place is scared.

"I have been working on getting a validation order but I have not had the responses I need. Things are just all over the place.

"On Monday I want to get people in and deal with this properly, regardless of how much it costs.

"We are running out of valuable time. We need the validation order so we can open up the accounts and pay some money in.

"I promise I am doing this for the right reasons, I am honestly passionate about saving this club."
