Andy Woolmer to Referee Blackburn Rovers v Bolton

Andy Woolmer will referee Monday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Blackburn Rovers and Bolton at Ewood Park.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa on Good Friday - a result which confirmed their relegation to League One - while Rovers were 2-1 winners at Queens Park Rangers that same afternoon.

Woolmer, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 27 matches so far this season - issuing 80 yellow cards and four red.

His most recent outing was on April 19, when he was the man in the middle for Sunderland's 2-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers in League One. The Northamptonshire official brandished two yellow cards at the Stadium of Light, which each side receiving one apiece.

Woolmer's last match in charge of Bolton was on February 16, when they were beaten 4-0 by Norwich City in a Championship clash at the University of Bolton Stadium. One player was cautioned that afternoon - Wanderers midfielder Craig Noone.

The last time he refereed a Rovers fixture was in April 2018, as they ran out 1-0 winners over Southend United in a League One encounter at Ewood Park. Three players entered the book that day, including Blackburn duo Paul Downing and Richard Smallwood.
