Fresh doubt has been cast over Bolton's game with Ipswich Town on Saturday, with technical problems hitting the University of Bolton Stadium.

Wanderers are due to host the Tractor Boys in a bottom-of-the-table clash, with the game given the go-ahead on Thursday following initial safety concerns which had seen a prohibition notice served - revoking the stadium's security certificate.

Supporters had expressed frustration at an inability to purchase tickets on Friday and it now appears the problem could see the fixture postponed, with the club saying they are working hard to resolve the issue.

A brief statement, posted at bwfc.co.uk, read: "Due to a critical failure of the stadium's IT system, Saturday's Sky Bet Championship match against Ipswich Town at the University of Bolton Stadium is in doubt.

"Engineers will be working through the night to resolve this issue and the club will provide an update at the earliest available opportunity."
