Robert Jones will referee Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Wigan Athletic and Bolton at the DW Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, while the Latics were beaten 3-0 at Blackburn Rovers that same evening.

Jones, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 29 matches so far this season - issuing 91 yellow cards and one red.

His most recent outing was on March 8, when he was the man in the middle for Norwich City's 1-0 victory over Swansea City in the Championship. The Merseyside official brandished two yellow cards at Carrow Road, with each side receiving one apiece.

Jones' last match in charge of Bolton was in December 2018, when they were beaten 1-0 by Leeds United in a Championship clash at the University of Bolton Stadium. Three players were cautioned that afternoon, including Wanderers duo Jason Lowe and Craig Noone.

The last time he refereed a Wigan fixture was also in December 2018, as they were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich Albion in a Championship encounter at The Hawthorns. Four players entered the book that day, including Latics pair Callum Connolly - now of Bolton - and Joe Garner.
