Bolton Wanderers players and staff have received their wages for the month of February - 12 days later than they were originally due.

After a series of unkept promises - the latest of which was an announcement that salaries would be settled by close of business on Monday - players took the decision to lodge an official complaint with the EFL after taking the advice of their union, the Professional Footballers' Association.

Now, just hours ahead of a crucial Championship clash with Sheffield Wednesday, Trotters chairman Ken Anderson has revealed all outstanding monies owed have been settled and that focus can now return to on-field action.

Posting to, Anderson said: "After a number of last minute hitches which caused some unforeseeable delays, I can confirm that all outstanding salaries for players and coaching staff have now been paid and we can all now put our energy and focus into supporting the players for tonight's important match."

Anderson also admitted discussions over a proposed takeover continue to be held, with a deal set to be in place by the end of the week.

"Hopefully, the takeover will be completed later this week and the new owners will be in place and will be given the time and opportunity to take the club forward," he added.
