Stephen Martin will referee Tuesday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory at home to Millwall on Saturday, while the Owls played out a 1-1 draw at Derby County that same afternoon.

Martin, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 25 matches so far this season - issuing 65 yellow cards and three red.

His most recent outing was on March 2, when he was the man in the middle for Wigan Athletic's goalless draw with Middlesbrough in the Championship. The Staffordshire official brandished three yellow cards at the DW Stadium, two of which went to members of the visiting side.

Martin's last match in charge of Bolton was on January 12, when they were beaten 2-1 by Bristol City in a Championship clash at Ashton Gate. Two players were cautioned that afternoon - Wanderers duo Jason Lowe and Josh Magennis.

The last time he refereed a Sheffield Wednesday fixture was in November 2018, as they were beaten 4-0 by Norwich City in a Championship encounter at Hillsborough. Six players entered the book that afternoon, including Owls quartet Matt Penney, Barry Bannan, Atdhe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao.
