Phil Parkinson says he, staff and players at Bolton have been told they will receive February's wages by Monday.

A number of part-time employees, matchday staff and youth players are understood to have received their outstanding salaries over the course of the past 24 hours, with all remaining payments due to have been made by close of business on Friday.

Parkinson has revealed the initial plan has now changed, however, with Ken Anderson's club consultant Paul Aldridge informing the Wanderers boss that wages shall be paid at the start of next week if a takeover hasn't been completed beforehand.

"The players and the first-team coaching staff, including myself, haven't been paid," Parkinson told BBC Radio Manchester.

"Paul Aldridge has just come down to the training ground and his message from Ken was obviously the takeover is progressing well and we're hoping that keeps going in the right direction.

"However, if that hasn't happened by Monday Ken will pay the existing people who haven't been paid which is obviously the people I have just mentioned.

"So that's what we know, for the players and myself that bit of communication is a real positive for us because the lads, in fairness to them last week, were concerned about the office staff and everybody who works at the ground getting their money first and that is a credit to them for that.

"However, they wanted some communication on the likelihood of when they were going to get paid.

"We've been given that this morning and hopefully things will progress in a positive way over the weekend."
