Reports on Thursday suggest Bolton have turned down a deadline day offer from an unnamed League One club to take Erhun Oztumer on loan.
Oztumer, who joined Wanderers on a free transfer from Walsall last June, has struggled to establish himself at the University of Bolton Stadium, starting just eight times all season and recently appearing to fall out-of-favour under the management of Phil Parkinson.
After scoring on his debut in a Carabao Cup defeat at Leeds United in August, a high level of excitement and expectation was placed upon the shoulders of the 27-year-old but he hasn't started a game since November and has fallen behind the likes of Luca Connell, Joe Pritchard and Luke Murphy since his last appearance on New Year's Day.
League One duo Charlton Athletic and Sunderland have been credited with showing an interest in the Turkish midfielder, but it is understood Wanderers are keen to retain the services of a player who still has 18 months to run on his exisiting contract, with a view to re-evaluating the situation at the end of the campaign.
