Stuart Attwell will referee Friday's FA Cup fourth round tie between Bristol City and Bolton at Ashton Gate.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion on Monday, while the Robins were 1-0 winners at Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

Attwell, who will take charge of the tie, has officiated 17 matches so far this season - issuing 54 yellow cards and one red.

His most recent outing was on January 19, when he was the man in the middle for Newcastle United's 3-0 victory over Cardiff City in the Premier League. The Warwickshire official brandished one yellow card at St James' Park, which went to Bluebirds midfielder Victor Camarasa.

Attwell's last match in charge of Bolton was in September 2017, when they were beaten 1-0 by Sheffield United in a Championship clash at Macron Stadium. Four players were cautioned that evening, including Wanderers trio Josh Cullen, Filipe Morais and Gary Madine.

The last time he refereed a Bristol City fixture was in December 2016, as they beat Ipswich Town 2-0 in a Championship encounter at Ashton Gate. Two players entered the book that day - City duo Lee Tomlin and Aaron Wilbraham.
