Bolton have been dealt a major injury blow, with news emerging that Yanic Wildschut is facing up to three months out with an ankle injury.

Wildschut, who is on a season-long loan from Norwich City, has made 18 appearances for Wanderers this season, scoring twice, and picked up the problem during the first-half of their FA Cup third round victory over Walsall on January 5.

The 27-year-old has been at the centre of a wage dispute over the course of the past fortnight, with the Trotters said to owe the player's parent club a figure in the region of £200,000 in unpaid salaries for both he and goalkeeper Remi Matthews, who last week returned to Carrow Road.

Wildschut is expected to return to Norwich for treatment, leaving boss Phil Parkinson with just Sammy Ameobi, Will Buckley and Craig Noone to choose from as recognised wide players.
