Forest Green Chairman's Scathing Attack on Ken Anderson

Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince has described Bolton counterpart Ken Anderson as a 'slippery' customer, and one who doesn't care about the implications of his actions.

Vince was speaking after it emerged Christian Doidge, who had spent the first half of the season on loan with Wanderers, had returned to the League Two side after a proposed permanent transfer was called off due to a registration embargo being placed upon the Trotters by the EFL.

In a strongly worded interview, Vince admits to being goaded by Anderson, who is alleged to have invited the Forest Green chief into beginning bankruptcy proceedings against the club.

"The transfer was meant to go through on January 3," Vince told

"We got in touch the day before to ask if everything was alright and the deal was going to happen. We didn't get a very convincing answer and come the day it didn't happen.

"I spent a couple of days talking to their chairman, trying to sort.

"We did reach a different agreement to try and accommodate them. We were drawing it up and then that was reneged on.

"Over the weekend, I put a lot of thought into it and realised we were in limbo and the player was in limbo.

"We're in the transfer window and we needed to know what we're going to do, so we decided to call him back and call time on the whole Bolton fiasco.

"The chairman there is not worried about being sued or being bankrupted. He's been there and done it. He laughed off the idea of being sued.

"He tells me he's a secured creditor, so he's safe whatever happens. We're not, so he tells me, so we'll get 10p in the £1. He's very cocky and clearly been round the block.

"It goes back to August - a lot of promises were made that haven't been kept. In the last few days in particular, he's been a very tricky customer to deal with. I'd say he's slippery and not somebody who I would ever believe again.

"He's the kind of person who gives football a bad name."
