Reports on Sunday suggest Bristol City are lining up a £1million offer for Everton midfielder Joe Williams, who is currently on loan at Bolton.

Williams, who joined Wanderers on a season-long loan in August, has featured heavily for Phil Parkinson's side throughout the campaign - completing 90 minutes in all but two of his 19 appearances.

But the 22-year-old has missed the last two games, including Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie with Walsall, and doubts have began to surface over his future after a registration embargo was enforced at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Having spent the entirety of last season on loan at Barnsley, Williams has more than 50 games under his belt at Championship level and could provide the boost Lee Johnson's side need as they push for a place in the Play-Offs at the end of the campaign.
