Darren England will referee Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie between Bolton and Walsall at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 6-0 defeat at Hull City on New Year's Day, while the Saddlers were beaten 2-1 at Charlton Athletic in a League One meeting that same afternoon.

England, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 24 matches so far this season - issuing 91 yellow cards and four red.

His most recent outing was on January 1, when he was the man in the middle for Nottingham Forest's 4-2 victory over Leeds United in the Championship. The Yorkshire official brandished two yellow cards in that game, as well as issuing a straight-red to United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

England's last match in charge of Bolton was in April 2018, when they were beaten 3-0 by Derby County in a Championship clash at Pride Park. Two players were cautioned that afternoon, including Wanderers forward Adam Le Fondre.

The last time he refereed a Walsall fixture was also in April 2018, as they held Oldham Athletic to a 1-1 draw in a League One encounter at Boundary Park. Two players entered the book that evening, including visiting defender Nicky Devlin.
