Jeremy Simpson will referee Boxing Day's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Bolton and Rotherham United at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Brentford on Saturday, while the Millers were beaten 4-0 on home soil by West Bromwich Albion that same afternoon.

Simpson, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 22 matches so far this season - issuing 91 yellow cards and four red.

His most recent outing was on December 14, when he was the man in the middle for West Brom's 2-1 victory over Sheffield United in the Championship. The Lancashire official produced one yellow card at Bramall Lane, which went to Blades defender John Egan.

Simpson's last match in charge of Bolton was on October 2, when they were beaten 2-0 by Stoke City in a Championship clash at the bet365 Stadium. Three players were cautioned that evening, including Wanderers duo Jonathan Grounds and Craig Noone.

The last time he refereed a Rotherham fixture was on October 27, as they held Preston North End to a 1-1 draw in a Championship encounter at Deepdale. Two players entered the book that day, including United midfielder Richard Towell.

Below is the full set of officials for Wednesday's game between Bolton and Rotherham United:
