Connor Hall scored his first senior league goal on Saturday, but it will be wiped from the history books after Accrington Stanley's game with Sunderland was abandoned.

Hall, who is on loan with Stanley from Bolton until January, cancelled out an earlier opener from Black Cats midfielder Chris Maguire.

A club-record attendance of 5,257 was in attendance at the Wham Stadium, where multiple pitch inspections had been held prior to kick-off, but those supporters went home disappointed when referee Oliver Langford called off the game with just 15 minutes left to play.

Heavy rain had flooded the local area on the morning of the fixture, only to calm down as the afternoon progressed. A further downfall during the second period left parts of the pitch unplayable, however, meaning the clash will have to be replayed at a later date.
