There will be a notable absentee in the directors' box when Bolton host Wigan Athletic, with chairman and owner Ken Anderson set to avoid the game.

Anderson, who has come under heavy criticism from supporters over the course of the past 48 hours, had been due to meet with local media outlets to discuss Wanderers' ongoing financial situation, after football and office staff experienced delays with their November salary payments.

The chairman held a conference call with a number of senior professionals on Friday, in which it was determined players will be paid by next Thursday, while office staff have since seen their monthly wages land in personal accounts in time for the busy Christmas shopping period.

The Trotters host neighbours Wigan for the first time since January 2015, looking for a first victory in 10 outings. Wigan, meanwhile, have lost their last seven Championship games away from home - and another on Saturday would represent their worst-ever run since being promoted to the EFL in 1978.
