Reports on Thursday evening suggest a number of players and staff at Bolton Wanderers are unlikely to receive their November wages on time.

As reported by The Bolton News, employees were due to receive their latest salary payments on Friday but an internal email sent by club owner and chairman Ken Anderson on Wednesday advised only some would be paid on time - with the remainder seeing funds land in their bank accounts next Monday.

The news arrives less than 48 hours before Wanderers are due to play host to Wigan Athletic at the University of Bolton Stadium, with the club in the midst of a run which has been them pick up just one win in 15 games - in which they have dropped from 3rd in the Championship table to 23rd.

It serves as the third wage issue this season, following a player boycott of a pre-season friendly at St Mirren in July, as well as potential penalty from the EFL over severence packages to former players Derik Osede, Karl Henry and Jem Karacan in September.

Anderson is due to meet with local media ahead of Saturday's clash with the Latics, where questions are sure to be asked over the ongoing financial situation.
