Bolton will look to arrest an alarming slump in form on Wednesday, when they host Nottingham Forest at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Saturday's draw at Rotherham United saw Wanderers avoid a third successive defeat, but still means they go into their midweek clash with Forest having picked up just one win in their last nine outings.

Despite making five changes last time out, Phil Parkinson is expected to shuffle the pack yet again as he looks to keep his players fit and healthy ahead of a weekend fixture with Hull City.

One man who will not feature is Gary O'Neil, who was forced out of the action at the AESSEAL New York Stadium last time out with little over half-an-hour on the clock.

Scans have revealed the veteran midfielder faces at least a fortnight on the sidelines with a calf injury, opening the door for Josh Vela and Luke Murphy to force a way back into contention.

Will Buckley remains a doubt due to a lingering hamstring complaint, although Erhun Oztumer could return after missing out on a place in the matchday squad last time out.

Christian Doidge's first goal in Trotters colours may not be enough to earn him a starting role, with Josh Magennis and Clayton Donaldson both hoping to get the nod.

Recent signing Lloyd Dyer may have to settle for a place amongst the substitutes as he continues to build up his fitness, although Stephen Ireland will have wait a little longer having joined on a free transfer from Stoke City last week.

Andrew Taylor is closing in on a return from a calf injury but isn't yet deemed fit enough, meaning Jonathan Grounds could return at left-back, while Sammy Ameobi has upped his recovery from an ankle ligament injury but isn't expected to feature for at least another two weeks.
