Bolton may decide to appeal Marc Wilson's red card against Ipswich Town, with manager Phil Parkinson labelling the decision as 'harsh'.

Wilson was dismissed 34 minutes into Wanderers' draw at Portman Road on Saturday, having been adjudged to have pulled at the shirt of Kayden Jackson as he closed in on goal.

Speaking after the game, Parkinson felt the Town forward made the most of a challenge from Wilson, who now stands to miss next weekend's game against Derby County through suspension.

"I knew at the time it was harsh," Parkinson told bwfc.co.uk. "I've seen it back and there's minimal contact.

"Jackson has thrown himself to the ground and I'm really disappointed the referee has given Marc a red card for that.

"We had to respond, so we put (David) Wheater on. I'd given him a breather because he'd played two games - Saturday and Wednesday - but he did great when he got on.

"We saw it through, so I'm very pleased, but I'm disappointed with the decision to send Marc off."
