David Coote will referee Wednesday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Middlesbrough and Bolton at the Riverside Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, while Boro were beaten 1-0 at Norwich City that same afternoon.

Coote, who will take charge of the game, has officiated two matches so far this season - issuing seven yellow cards and no red.

His most recent outing was on August 26, when he was the man in the middle for Fulham's 4-2 victory over Burnley in the Premier League. The Nottinghamshire official produced three yellow cards at Craven Cottage, two of which were shown to members of the winning hosts.

Coote's last match in charge of Bolton was on February 20, when they beat Sunderland 1-0 in a Championship clash at Macron Stadium. Four cautions were issued that evening, with David Wheater, Sammy Ameobi, Filipe Morais and Karl Henry having their names taken.

The last time he refereed a Middlesbrough fixture was on May 6, as they registered a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town in a Championship encounter at Portman Road. Four players entered the book that afternoon, with Boro defender Ben Gibson amongst the recipients.
