Phil Parkinson says Craig Noone's start to the season has been of Premier League standard, whilst admitting it would be difficult for him to consistently perform to those levels.

Noone struggled in his debut campaign with Wanderers, making just seven starts in all competitions as Parkinson's side avoided relegation to League One with a final-day victory over Nottingham Forest.

The Trotters have started the current campaign brightly though, with Noone featuring from the off in each of the past three league outings, and the Bolton boss believes his players can only benefit if he can keep the likes of Noone, Sammy Ameobi, Yanic Wildschut and Will Buckley fresh as the season progresses.

"Craig Noone's stats at the weekend were top-end Premier League level and it was always going to be difficult for him to go to the wire," Parkinson told

"The wide players are the high-energy players in the team and we've got the option to change that round.

"The lads who came on gave us a lift, as Yanic did at the weekend."
