James Linington to Referee Reading v Bolton

James Linington will referee Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Reading and Bolton at the Madejski Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat at Leeds United on Tuesday, while the Royals 2-0 winners at home to Birmingham City that same evening.

Linington, who will take charge of the game, has officiated two matches so far this season - issuing two yellow cards and no red.

His most recent outing was on August 14, when he was the man in the middle for Oxford United's 2-0 victory over Coventry City in the Carabao Cup. The Newport official produced one yellow card at the Kassam Stadium, which went to United defender Cameron Norman.

Linington's last match in charge of both Bolton and Reading was in the corresponding fixture last season, when the sides played out a 1-1 draw back on March 6. Six cautions were issued that evening, with Wanderers trio Jon Flanagan, Will Buckley and Karl Henry amongst the recipients.
