Bolton take an early-season break from league action on Tuesday, when they face Leeds United in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Having accumulated four points from their opening two Championship games this term, Phil Parkinson's side come up against one of just three clubs with a 100% record - the others being Aston Villa and Swansea City.

The Wanderers boss is expected to name a number of changes, with one eye on Saturday's trip to Reading, meaning the likes of Erhun Oztumer, Marc Wilson, Jack Hobbs and Jonathan Grounds could all receive their first starts.

Oztumer has struggled to get up and running since arriving on a free transfer from Walsall, with a hip injury slowing his progress, but he is likely to start at Elland Road in a line-up which could also include Adam Le Fondre.

Wilson and Hobbs could replace Mark Beevers and captain David Wheater at the heart of the defence, with Ben Williams and Remi Matthews possibly in for Ben Alnwick in goal, while Jonathan Grounds should replace Andrew Taylor at left-back if his registration was received by the EFL in time.

Sammy Ameobi (hip) remains sidelined, despite receiving an injection on the problem, and Clayton Donaldson is a major doubt as he continues to recover from a groin strain.

Should he be on the scoresheet, Josh Magennis would become only the second post-war player to net on his first three appearances for the Trotters - the other being Daniel Sturridge, who set a record of four back in 2011.

Bolton Wanderers: from: Alnwick, Williams, Matthews, Little, Taylor, Beevers, Hobbs, Olkowski, Wilson, Darby, Wheater, Grounds, Lowe, Vela, Oztumer, Buckley, Noone, Murphy, O'Neil, Wildschut, Earing, Donaldson, Le Fondre, Magennis
