Milton Keynes Dons forward Chuks Aneke is seemingly close to joining Bolton, after he was left out of their 1-0 victory over Bury on Saturday.

Aneke, who scored 10 goals as the Dons were relegated from League One last season, has been linked with Wanderers throughout the summer and was said to be a target for manager Phil Parkinson ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.

That window may have closed but with the loan window still open for EFL clubs until August 31, the 25-year-old is understood to be in advanced talks over a move to the University of Bolton Stadium - with Dons boss Paul Tisdale confirming a deal is nearing completion.

Speaking to the Milton Keynes Citizen, Tisdale said: "It's still not confirmed but we are in talks with another club and until that goes through, it is what it is - it's not confirmed.

"We have a lot of things to focus on but it will probably manifest itself in the next couple of days whether he's going or not."
