Reports on Wednesday suggest Bolton are lining up a double loan move for Birmingham City duo David Stockdale and Jonathan Grounds.

Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson is actively looking to bolster his squad ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline - although clubs have until August 31 before the closure of the loan window - and has identified the Blues pair to provide extra competition in the goalkeeping and left-back departments.

Stockdale joined City on a free transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2017 and made 39 appearances in his debut campaign at St Andrew's, while Grounds has featured 170 times since arriving on a free from Oldham Athletic in July 2014.

The Birmingham Mail report both players have been told they are surplus to requirements under the management of Garry Monk, who is being forced into budget cuts as the club look to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
