Bolton have completed the signing of Luke Murphy, after he reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract at Leeds United.

Murphy has signed a two-year deal with Wanderers and becomes their eighth major signing of the summer window - following Jason Lowe, Erhun Oztumer, Clayton Donaldson, Pawel Olkowski, Marc Wilson, Jack Hobbs and Josh Magennis.

The 28-year-old came through the youth system at Crewe Alexandra and made 186 senior appearances before completing a £1million to Elland Road in the summer of 2013.

Murphy featured 111 times during a five-year spell in Yorkshire, but spent the past season-and-a-half on loan at Burton Albion - making 61 appearances in all competitions - prior to their relegation into League One in May.

"I'm delighted to be here and I can't wait to get started and get to know everyone at such a great club," Murphy told

"It's a fantastic club that's been in the Premier League and looking at the squad for this season, it shows real potential.

"Having spoken to the manager, and with the direction the club is going in, it was an easy decision for me."

In addition, Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson said: "We are pleased with the signing of Luke. He's a player with plenty of Championship experience and we are looking forward to working with him."
