Ken Anderson has moved to quash a comment from Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer, who suggested Bolton had made a move to sign defender Patrick Bauer.

Bauer, a reported target for Blackburn Rovers, has been a subject of interest from numerous Championship clubs over the summer and although the Wanderers chairman admits a conversation was held, he denies all knowledge of an official bid.

"I just wanted to take this opportunity to clear up some confusion about Charlton's Patrick Bauer," Anderson told bwfc.co.uk.

"As we were concluding the deal for Josh we were made aware that Blackburn were interested in Bauer.

"We enquired as to how much Charlton valued Bauer at and that is where we left it.

"We certainly made no bid for the player."
