Mark Beevers could be a man in demand, after Scottish side Rangers sent a scout to watch him in Bolton's pre-season draw with Girona.

Beevers, who recently signed a new 12-month contract with Wanderers, joined the club on a free transfer from Millwall in 2016 and has been a near ever-present since - making 98 appearances in all competitions and scoring eight times.

The 28-year-old has struck up an impressive partnership with David Wheater at Macron Stadium, but came under criticism from supporters last season after initially struggling to adapt to life at Championship level.

A report in The Express suggests Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has identified Beevers as a potential candidate to bolster his defensive unit, having recently completed the signings of both Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic.
