Ben Amos looks to have played his final game for Bolton, after it was confirmed he is to spend the season on loan at Millwall.
Amos, who hasn't played a game for Wanderers since August 2016, has spent the past two campaigns on loan at Cardiff City and Charlton Athletic, respectively, but returned to pre-season training at the club's Lostock training base a fortnight ago.
The 28-year-old, who has made a total of 53 appearances for the Trotters, has 12 months remaining on his contract and was last week at the centre of attention after it emerged he hadn't been paid for the month of June - one of several factors that prompted players to go on strike.
Despite plying his trade with near neighbours Charlton last season, Amos admits the opportunity to return to the Championship was one he couldn't afford to pass on.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk, he said: "I heard a couple of days ago that there was interest. From there, it's over to the clubs and the agents to get things sorted - thankfully it's been done and I've spent my first day out [in Portugal] today.
"It's all about the level you play at. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Charlton last season and I want to get to enjoying my football again. Hopefully this season we can enjoy success again and have a really good year."
