Filipe Morais will leave Bolton Wanderers when his contract expires on June 30, the club have confirmed.

Morais, who made 37 appearances last season, joined the Trotters on a free transfer from Bradford City in February 2017 and quickly established himself as a firm fans' favourite at Macron Stadium.

Highly regarded for his set-piece deliveries, assist returns and versatility on either flank, news of the 32-year-old's impending departure will come as a surprise to many supporters.

Nicknamed 'The Postman' by those on the terraces, a report by The Bolton News suggests fans won't be the only ones shocked by the decision, with Morais said to have found out via social media.

In total, Morais made 56 appearances during his season-and-a-half at Bolton, scoring three times.
