Carabao Cup ties level after 90 minutes will now proceed straight to a penalty shoot-out, after extra-time was removed from competition rules.

Following a voting process at the EFL's 2018 Summer Conference, clubs have agreed to remove the additional 30 minutes of play and instead go straight to the spot - where penalty kicks will be taken in the traditional format.

In addition to this, clubs will no longer fall into seeded and unseeded categories from round two onwards, although EFL teams entering at the first-round stage will remain regionalised to North and South sections.

VAR will also be utilised from next season at all ties played at a Premier League stadium. At this time, it remains unclear whether or not the technology could be used at a number of Championship stadia.
