Aaron Wilbraham, Darren Pratley and Karl Henry will be released by Bolton when their contracts expires on June 30, the club have confirmed.

Wilbraham, whose 88th-minute winner against Nottingham Forest on the final day secured Championship survival for Wanderers, turns 39 in October and manager Phil Parkinson has wielded the axe as he prepares to build a younger squad ahead of the new campaign.

The former Bristol City forward made 27 appearances during his solitary season at Macron Stadium - of which just seven were from the start - and scored two goals.

Meanwhile, Parkinson has also called time on the stay of his trusted midfield lieutenants - Pratley and Henry.

Pratley joined Bolton on a free transfer from Swansea City in the summer of 2011 and spent seven years with the Trotters, scoring 17 goals in 203.

He is one of few players in history to have represented the club through three different divisions, and successfully captained the side to promotion as League One runners-up in 2016/17.

His holding midfield partner, Henry, will also depart Wanderers at the end of the month, bringing an end to a brief stay which produced 33 appearances and one goal.

The 35-year-old joined Bolton in September, when they had accrued just two points from their opening nine league games, and was an almost ever-present as they recovered to secure safety on the final day.
