Bolton have emerged as the favourites to sign Erhun Oztumer, who will be available as a free agent when his contract at Walsall expires on June 30.
Oztumer, who has spent the past two seasons at the Banks's Stadium, scored 32 goals in 95 appearances for the Saddlers and has also attracted interest from Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End and League One side Bradford City.
A report in Monday's edition of The Bolton News suggests Wanderers are closing in on the signature of the 27-year-old, who netted 17 times last season in a struggling side that avoided relegation into League Two by just two points.
The Turkish midfielder represented Charlton Athletic, Fisher Athletic and Turkish side Manisaspor during his youth, before turning professional with Sivasspor.
After failing to feature at senior level, Oztumer dropped into the fourth tier with Anadolu Uskudar.
A return to England followed in 2012 when he joined non-league outfit Dulwich Hamlet, where a return of more than 60 goals in two seasons saw him earn a move to Peterborough United.
Oztumer scored seven goals in 55 games for Posh, before linking up with Walsall on a free transfer in 2016.
He scored 15 goals in his first season at the club, whilst going two better in the season just gone, but announced in May that he would not entertain any offers of a new contract in the Midlands.
