Jeff King has revealed he will leave Bolton Wanderers when his contract expires on June 30.

King, who initially linked up with Wanderers' under-23 side in late 2016, made his first-team debut in a Carabao Cup third-round defeat at West Ham United in September 2017.

He went on to play two more games for Phil Parkinson's side, before spending the latter part of last season on loan at FC United of Manchester - for whom he netted a hat-trick on his final appearance.

The 22-year-old had been tipped to break into the senior set-up at Macron Stadium but ultimately failed to establish himself in a midfield largely dominated by the likes of Darren Pratley, Karl Henry and Josh Vela.

Posting to his Twitter page, King, who was part of the Trotters' under-23 title-winning side, said: "Would like to thank everyone involved at Bolton Wanderers for the last 18 months.

"Giving me the chance to prove myself, feel like I have progressed massively, enjoyed every minute of it!

"But time for me to go and play more league games and kick on!"
