Cole Lonsdale has become the latest player to announce his departure from Bolton Wanderers, taking the summer's total up to nine.

Lonsdale, who played a key role in the club's under-23 title-winning success this season, has completed a third-year scholarship at Macron Stadium but will not be retained on a professional contract when his existing deal comes to a close on June 30.

The 18-year-old joins Jem Karacan, Derik Osede, Dorian Dervite, Chris Taylor, Mark Howard, Jan Kirchhoff, Chinedu Obasi and Jeff King on the list of released players and posting on his official Twitter page, Lonsdale said: "After 6 years at the football club my time at Bolton has come to an end.

"Been an absolute pleasure to play for this club but it's now time for a change for the future.

"Met some ace people down the way. Would like to thank all the coaching staff and the players involved with the club and all the best for the future.

"What the lads achieved this year will always be remembered.

"All aside looking forward for what the future holds."
