Nottingham Forest Disappointed With Bolton Loan Pair

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka is unsure what the future holds for Zach Clough and Tyler Walker, after disappointing loan spells at Bolton.

Clough and Walker, the first of whom came through the academy system at Wanderers, spent the second half of last season at Macron Stadium but failed to establish themselves under Phil Parkinson - making just five league starts between them.

The attacking duo remain under contract at the City Ground but Karanka, who took on his current position in January, has his doubts as to whether they will figure in his long-term plans.

"We wanted them to report back for pre-season and show us the progress they had made," Karanka told the Nottingham Post.

"But they did not play regularly, so we need to think about them.

"They are young, they are talented. But they need to play. If they were unable to play at Bolton, imagine how difficult it is going to be for them to play here."
