Bolton chairman Ken Anderson insists the club will spend money this summer, irrespective of whether he finds investment or not.

More than three years have passed since Wanderers paid out for a permanent transfer - when Filip Twardzik arrived at Macron Stadium from Celtic for a nominal fee.

Having overseen promotion as League One runners-up, coupled with the retention of their Championship status this season, all of which was achieved with a squad of free transfers and loan players, Anderson knows funds must be found if the Trotters are to continue their progression.

Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, Anderson said: "Talks are still on going with potential investors and I'm currently speaking with three separate parties who have expressed an interest in investing.

"This may or may not happen, but I can reassure you that any negotiations will not detract or hamper our determination to strengthen our squad ahead of the new campaign and indeed, funds are available for the manager."
