Ben Alnwick has been voted as Bolton Wanderers' 2017/18 Player of the Year, by Burnden Aces readers.

Alnwick, whose contract at Macron Stadium is due to expire at the end of June, played a pivotal part throughout the campaign, making 41 appearances in all competitions as Wanderers retained their Championship status on the final day.

The 31-year-old kept eight clean sheets, as he kept a stronghold on the goalkeeper's position despite pressure from Mark Howard.

Since polls were opened on March 31, more than 1,000 votes were cast by YOU - the supporters - with 53.81% of those going the way of your winner.

Alnwick's nearest challenger proved to be Sammy Ameobi, who took the runners-up spot with 13.12% of the vote, while Karl Henry finished in third place with 10.5%.
