Anderson: Survival Would Top Promotion Campaign

Ken Anderson thinks Bolton retaining their place in the Championship would be an even bigger achievement than winning promotion last season.

Little over two years since Anderson purchased shares in the club, Wanderers returned to the second tier at the very first attempt and know victory, combined with results elsewhere, could see them avoid relegation on the final day of the campaign this coming Sunday.

In his latest column, posted at, the Trotters chairman has asked for patience and support from supporters, saying: "Since my arrival at the club, this will indeed be the most important and crucial game the club has been involved in, and should we stay in this league I believe it will be a bigger success than promotion last season.

"Due to the magnitude of the contest, the game may get off to a slow and nervy start but we politely ask that you all stay behind the team throughout.

"I am confident that the lads will put in the shift of their lives and we also hope that fortune is on our side in respect of the results elsewhere.

"It is very much cliched to talk about twists and turns, and there have been several in recent weeks, but I'm sure there will be another on Sunday."
