Michael Jones will referee Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Barnsley and Bolton at Oakwell.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Millwall on Tuesday, while the Tykes were beaten 1-0 at Ipswich Town that same evening.

Jones, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 23 matches so far this season - issuing 92 yellow cards and three red.

His most recent outing was on April 7, when he was the man in the middle for Crawley Town's 2-1 victory at Port Vale in League Two. The Chester official produced seven yellow cards in that game, as well as pointing to the penalty spot.

Jones' last match in charge of Bolton was in September 2013, when they were beaten 3-1 by Brighton & Hove Albion in a Championship clash at the AMEX Stadium. Five cautions were issued that afternoon, with Wanderers trio Matt Mills, David Wheater and Jay Spearing amongst the recipients.

The last time he refereed a Barnsley fixture was on February 27, as they held Hull City to a 1-1 draw in a Championship encounter at the KCOM Stadium. Six players entered the referee's book that evening, including Tykes duo Liam Lindsay and Dimitri Cavare.
