Bolton goalkeeper Jake Turner has joined non-league Frickey Athletic on a loan deal which will run through until the end of the season.

Turner, who has been named amongst the substitutes on 30 separate occasions, has yet to make his senior debut for Wanderers and spent time on loan at Stalybridge Celtic earlier this season.

An England under-19 international, Turner will combine his stint at Westfield Lane with playing for the Trotters' under-23 side, a move Frickley boss Spencer Fearn believes will benefit all parties.

Speaking to Frickley's official website, Fearn said: "In Jake we have another outstanding goalkeeper and we are extremely thankful to Phil Parkinson at Bolton Wanderers for allowing the move to get Jake more first-team experience.

"It's fantastic news for our club."

Turner, who has attracted interest from the likes of Everton and Manchester United this campaign, is contracted to Bolton until the summer of 2019.
