Darren Bond will referee Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton at Hillsborough.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Reading on Tuesday, while the Owls were beaten 2-1 at home by Ipswich Town on the same evening.

Bond, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 33 matches so far this season - issuing 116 yellow cards and five red.

His most recent outing was on February 24, when he was the man in the middle for Nottingham Forest's 5-2 victory at Queens Park Rangers in the Championship. The Lancashire official produced three yellow cards at Loftus Road, two of which went to members of the visiting side.

Bond's last match in charge of Bolton was in December 2017, when they were 2-0 winners over Cardiff City in a Championship clash at Macron Stadium. Seven cautions were issued that afternoon, with Darren Pratley, Karl Henry and Gary Madine amongst the recipients.

The last time he refereed a Wednesday fixture was also in December 2017, as they were beaten 1-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Championship encounter at Hillsborough. Five players entered the referee's book that evening, while the home side had Morgan Fox dismissed for two bookable offences.
