Bolton boss Phil Parkinson had nothing but praise for Darren Pratley and Adam Le Fondre, after they helped Wanderers to a 1-1 draw at Reading.

Pratley, so often utilised in a holding midfield role, was pushed further forward at the Madejski Stadium, filling the void left by the rested Josh Vela as the support for Le Fondre.

Speaking after the game, Parkinson admitted the move was a calculated decision and one he believes can pay off long-term due to Pratley's experience at former club Swansea City.

"I thought Alfie was tremendous," Parkinson told BWFC's official YouTube channel.

"I thought Darren and him complemented each other well because Darren gave us that little bit of physicality up there.

"He covers every blade of grass and he's played there when he was at Swansea.

"We knew he could do it so we spent a bit of time on the way down looking at games where he'd played there and it just gives us a focal point."
